The MPU-6050 is the world's first integrated 6-axis motion processing component, eliminating the problem of inter-axis difference when combining gyroscopes and accelerators, and reducing the amount of packaging space compared to the multi-component solution. It integrates a 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerator, and a digital motion processor (DMP) hardware acceleration engine that can be connected to other brands of accelerators, magnetic sensors, or other sensors via a second I2C port. The main I2C port outputs a complete 9-axis fusion algorithm to the application in the form of a single data stream.
InvenSense's motion processing database handles complex data for motion sensing, reduces the load on the operating system for motion processing operations, and provides an architected API for application development. The MPU-6050's angular velocity range is ±250, ±500, ±1000 and ±2000°/sec (dps) for accurate fast and slow motion, and user-programmable accelerator full-frame sensing range is ±2g, ±4g±8g and ±16g. Transmission can pass I2C up to 400kHz or SPI up to 20MHz.
The device can operate at different voltages, with the VDD supply voltage being 2.5V±5%, 3.0V±5% or 3.3V±5%, and the logic interface VVDIO being 1.8V±5%. Other features include a built-in temperature sensor and an oscillator that includes only ±1% variation in the operating environment.

The motion processing database supports Android, Linux, and Windows. The device has built-in operating time deviation and magnetic sensor calibration calculation technology, which eliminates the need for customers to make additional corrections. It also has a temperature sensor with digital output and supports video electronic image stabilization technology and GPS with digital input sync pin (Sync pin).
The programmable interrupts support gesture recognition, panning, zooming in and out, scrolling, fast falling interrupts, high-G interrupts, zero motion sensing, touch sensing, and rocking sensing. The gyro operating current is 5mA, the gyroscope standby current is 5μA, the accelerator operating current is 350μA, and the accelerator power saving mode current is 20μA@10Hz.
The device has an I2C interface up to 400kHz fast mode, or SPI serial host interface up to 20MHz. It also has a built-in frequency generator with only ±1% frequency variation over all temperature ranges. The user personal test 10,000 g collision tolerance.
